Ugh. I now have this image of Anna and Balthazar killing Alastair (I think between the two of them they could manage it, especially as superbly pissed off as they'd be). And Dean telling Cas, no, I was playing you all along, in an attempt to twist the knife one more time. And Cas being like, "Dean, he's dead, you don't have to say that anymore" and being all sad that Dean's still scared. By the end of the story I don't think he'd even believe Dean; he's too invested. It'd take years to get him out of it, if he didn't kill Anna and Balthazar as soon as he was physically capable.
