Brilliant and lovely essay ~ And I so agree with it too. Ben's redemption and uniting with Hurley as the Island's true protectors was just perfect, and more than made up for other flaws in the final season / finale. Ben was definitely one of the main attributes I loved about Lost.

And oh yes ~ Michael E. as the Master. That would soooo perfect too!
