Insta rec! and a quick question -

First, my God, I love this story and everyone should read it: Here Open the Gates, by anonymous (part of [livejournal.com profile] deancas_xmas). It's a fantastic Death POV on Dean and Castiel with just the most gorgeous slow build (people with spider phobias might want to use some caution, although that particular section was particularly giggle-worthy). It's marked with spoilers for S7, but honestly, if you know the basics of what's been going on you should be fine, I was.)

Question for those of you who've been in big bangs: by summary, do they mean a summary like you would use when you're posting, or an actual summarization of the plot? [livejournal.com profile] jimmybigbang summaries are due the 20th and I'm kind of out to sea here.

Sooo... on my one and only participation in a BB from an author's viewpoint, I used two different summaries, one for drawing in an author, and another for the actually posting. I have no clue if the posting summary threw people off or not, as it was hrm 'artistic' and more a statement on what the story was ultimately about. But I will say that the summary I posted for artist claiming was what definiately drew my artist to my story, as she said to several people before we'd connected and after. Ironically, when I posted to AO3, I used the very first summary.

So, long story short, if it is for artist claimings that this summary is due, I would say write whatever you think will draw the best artist to your story, be it summary of plot or for posting. I've seen both, but for an artist, which I've been for BBs, I'd say plot is slightly more helpful.

Also, hi! I friended you because of the stories, and have had *zero* time to write comments/feedback (sorry!), but let me say, many of yours are being saved to my HD and to my iPad. Blanket feedback is they are lovely and you have a great deal of talent at putting forth an evocative, memorable tale. Will hopefully be more detailed when I've got time to be. :)

Aw, thank you! I took your advice and made sure to put more plot in, so we'll see how that goes.:)
