Ugh, I hate asking for extensions. Final drafts were due yesterday but I couldn't grab anything close to the amount of writing time I'd hoped over the holidays. Also, signing up for three different challenges with due dates in Dec-Jan probably wasn't my brightest moment. Four, actually, counting fandom_stocking. God, it's like a sickness.

Speaking of, I did manage to write four little things for that, so I'll post one of those tomorrow night. Maybe the angsty one. And the deancas_xmas reveals are Saturday! *dances*

Now that I've admitted I have a sickness, sncross_bigbang sign-ups are Friday and I am tempted. If I sign up I think I'll go with my White Collar idea, where Neal's sold his soul and it causes all kinds of problems. Although Doctor Who is also tempting. And Human target. And ooh, my L4D2 idea I've rambled about where it's 5.04!verse and everyone goes to hell.

Seriously, if I was on the Legion of Superheroes my name would be Indecisive Lass and my power would be to baffle villains with my inability to make decisions.

I didn't know you liked White Collar! As it stands right now it would be...is there a term for slashy gen? I guess that's still gen. Mostly there would be hellhounds and dramatic rescues and El being awesome.

(I'm so excited for your gabriel_bigbang! I wish I had any ability to Gabriel, he's one of those voices I just can't pin down.)

I adore White Collar!! Though I'm not an active part of the fandom, I still read fics for it that pop up on my flist. And I'm behind on the series because I watch it as it comes out on DVD. (I can't watch things on my computer, and I almost always work when it's airing. CURSES!) But, yes. LOVE THAT SHOW. \o/

The fic you have planned sounds all kinds of awesome, so I really really hope you decide to write it. I will totally play cheerleader for you! :D

Awww, it's a huge challenge, but not scary at all! And it's probably the only reason I ever got Destinies finished, which ended up being pretty much my most favorite story that I've ever written. I'm hoping it does the same this year, helping me finish the Cas-is-a-Winchester fic I started for NaNo.

Because, apparently, this is The Year of Brothercest Brotherly Bonding in every big fic I write.

I'm kind of comically bad at finishing stories that aren't written FOR something, a prompt or a challenge or what have you. I think I need the extra deadline to push past the omg, this is terrible I should just set the whole thing on fire stage of writing.

And yay, I love that story! I was plotting a Cas-is-a-Winchester fic ages ago (Cas was in a fall-or-die situation and instead of being reborn as a baby he got written into the timeline, Dawn-from-Buffy style) but he and Dean started getting...um, inappropriate and I didn't know how to make it stop. Apparently writing them as gen for any lenght of time is beyond me. *hands*

Yeah, deadlines are pretty much the only reason I finish anything. I know some people can't work with them at all, and fail horribly at any challenge they sign up for, but I can't function without a deadline of some kind. /o\

LOL! I really don't know if this story is going to stay gen, in spite of my best intentions. The amount of cuddling and hair-stroking and love between these three already is...well. I never had siblings, but I doubt it would've been like that, anyway, if I had. >> Unfortunately, like you, writing long!fic gen between any of them seems to be an impossibility.

I think if I ever revisit it I'll handwave all the tension as past life bleed and run with it, but it got pretty thick. Especially when Sam left for Stanford and Cas got all, well I would never leave, Dean! and it was just the two of them for four years. That's about the point where I took a step back and went waaaaiiit a second. I can write Dean and Sam gen just fine but Dean and Cas have to be all profound bond all the time.

Signing up for All The Things is self-delusion, not bravery.:) I'm like a magpie with fic challenges; it's all "ooh, shiny" and then it all turns into deadlines and panic.
