misachanHi, Craig! I just saw you in History Boys, along with Madame Maxine and Werewolf Guy from Being Human and Tony Stark's Dad! *waves*
And so we have the annual Companion-lite episode, which isn't quite up to the standards of Midnight but really, what is? I thought this was a much stronger episode than The Lodger, and it was a joy seeing Craig again (and he's still with Sophie! That made me all asquee.) And of course little Stormageddon, destroyer of all.:) Watching the Doctor with that baby was just adorable.
Great to see the Cybermats again. In fact I think my only real quibble with the episode was that this is the second time we've see a father's love for his son be a deciding factor in a Cyberman story; emotions are always the big weapon against them, but seeing the same story note used again in such a short time felt old. But really, that's a minor quibble - it's been used multiple times because it works.
Loved the quick shot of Amy and Rory, and especially the enraptured look on the Doctor's face when he spotted them. And Amy's a model! Good for her! (and I'm 100% sure the Doctor misinterpreted that ad - he clearly seemed to thing it meant she'd given up on him when I think it's much more likely that it means she's given up waiting and is going to find him this time.)
Next week we have the finale. Silence Will Fall.
