That isn't much of a post. Um. My father lent me his EZ Pass placard for my trip Sunday so HA! Take that, TOLLS. Especially you, $15 toll to cross the George Washington Bridge.

In less joyous news, this week has been useless for writing. /o\ Thank God I'm not doing NaNo. I will get my polybang draft completed and to my beta before I leave if it kills me and I plan on writing my DCSS fic during the next week, since I know exactly what I'm doing. And I think I've finally settled on what I'm writing for C/C, even though I still need an ending and it's scary because it requires me to be funny-ish. Exchanges are hard!

How goes your writings! Tell me of them, for I am nosy and bored at work!:)

I got my Yuletide assignment and could not be happier. I know exactly what I'm going to write. Even the title! Now I just need my DCSS assignment to be just as awesome and I'll be set.

We finally got power back at the office yesterday so today was back to normal. It's still scary as all hell driving around without traffic lights (you'll go two blocks with lights then hit long stretches while they're out, invariably at the scariest intersections) and the gas situation is ridiculous. The few stations open are gouging like crazy - gas is up about 75 cents a gallon on average - and you have to sit on line for hours just for the chance to pony up that money. A friend of mine waited for two hours today only to get told they'd switched to only filling up gas cans. Christie's starting rationing tomorrow to try to rein it in but I'm not touching my car this weekend. Hopefully over the next few days the situation stablilizes as power comes back in more places.

Ugh.

But my power came back on Wednesday and I'm lucky I was only out for two days - one of my friends might not get power until the 11th, and I was never out hot water or heat.

But again, ugh. I'm more than ready to squee over fic assignments after this past week, y'know?

Hello all! Today is my 9th LJversary and that means it's TIME FOR A PARTY! (inspired by oddishly's comment meme) *throws confetti* Thank you all so much for brightening my days and being part of my life for all these years.

Since H/C and rescue!fic are two of my favorite things in the world, the party theme is prompts, fic, art and other general loveliness involving characters saving each other, patching up their hurts, holding bedside vigils (I do love bedside vigils!) and blurting out ill-timed emotional declarations after the latest near miss, any characters, any fandoms, crossovers always welcome. Make the prompts and fills as angsty or fluffy as you like - have someone rescue Clint from a pile of puppies for all I care. As long as someone's hurts are being comforted or someone's getting rescued it's all good.

Some quick rules!

1) Have all the fun and be excellent to each other.

2) Anon commenting is on and all fanworks are welcome, fic, art, picspams, recs, anything and everything. Multiple fills are awesome! All fandoms can come to play.

3) All prompts and fills should involve either some kind of hurt/comfort or rescuing (or both!) This is a really broad catagory, so everything from hugs to kind words to vigils to full on storming the gates of Hell is welcome. (Clint really needs rescuing from those puppies!) Angst, fluff and everything in between, bring it all on.

4) Make sure to note the fandoms, characters and pairings of fills/prompts and use any required warnings. And spoiler cut when appropriate!

I'll be making an index of fills and sticky posting this so the party can go on until the next LJversary.:)

On the subject of things that make me unreasonably happy, I know it makes me that kind of Yankees fan but few things fill me with more joyful schadenfreude than the Red Sox imploding. Bobby V coaching this team is everything I could have hoped for.

Mwahahaha.

Guys. Guys. My friends are awesome.

I walked into a surprise party and there was BBQ and cake and okay also they sang at me. Then there were presents! I got a Firefly Captain Tightpants shirt and a film noir DVD set and an awesome die cast sonic screwdriver that actually turns screws. And then we played Stupid Duel and Werewolves of Miller's Crossing and I got to be Sheriff Werewolf and totally won that first round (the secret to that game is to never elect the werewolf as sheriff.)

Also I had two giant glasses of Bailey's and am a wee bit tipsy, so I'm just gonna watch Futurama and write Clint and Steve being angsty at each other.

Everything is yay. *boom de yada boom de yada*

Happy July! This year July not only means happy birthday to me, but kink_bingo! This is my third year playing; my first time was an abject failure and but last year I got a bingo. What will this year bring? Who knows!

Right now I think I'm going to try one of the new double line bingos, using that center vertical line and the second from the right one next to it. Maybe. Mostly because I think I can do things with combining the obedience and phone sex squares. Clint/Coulson/Nat things. Mwahaha.

So it looks like there might be another round of claiming for dc_dystopia, since as always there were more writers than there was art, and I am reeeaaaaaly fighting the urge to get in on that because it would let me use the 2014!verse bunny I thought I would have to save until the next round. It helps that obviously people who didn't get to claim would go first in round two and the piece I'd want would almost certainly go right away.

As far as the round that actually did happen, I got my first choice and have already started on the story - and by that I mean I have maybe ten words, but that's a start! Technically!

(As evidence for how hyped I was for this, I set my alarm this morning but mistakenly set it for 7:30 PM instead of AM and I STILL jolted awake at 8. I was so relieved my piece was still there by the time I got done flailing around and turned my laptop on.)

If it might belong in a nightmare, then it has a place here.
