Yuletide reveal!
Jan. 2nd, 2011 04:11 amThis was my first Yuletide and it was just and stressful and terrifying and exhilarating as I'd always heard it would be.:)
I wrote Masks Upon Masks (Kick-Ass 2010) for
roga, who requested I loved Mindy's character throughout the movie, and when it ended I just wanted more of her; in particular, I want to know what happens to her when she grows up; I want to know who she grows up to be and what's it's like for her to grow up where she does. Gen or non-gen, anything works.
I loved this movie and Hit-Girl was my favorite by far, but this prompt practically threw me into a panic. I'd never written Kick-Ass and it was the canon I'd felt least sure of myself in (which of course guaranteed it was what I would draw.:) And I had such a hard time ending it. By the time I posted it I'd been poking it so much I was sure it was terrible and my poor recipient would be so disappointed, so I was floored by wonderful reaction it got. (It's been a long-standing truth that I have no ability to predict fic reactions.) I haven't even started responding to comments yet, but people, I love you all so much. You really made my Christmas.
I got three (three!) Human Target fics, which I'll rec properly tomorrow. Yuletide was so good to my show; the fic count more than doubled just from Yuletide.

I've been busy writing for
fandom_stocking (mine is here, BTW. Ahem.:) I didn't get to write anything close to the number of fics I'd planned for Yuletide, so I'm trying to make up for lost time.

Happy new year! May it be better than the last. Please, God, be better than the last.
