Hey! Cable/Deadpool fans! Yes, you there! In the mood for something cute and funny and that will break your heart just a little bit? Then check out Samaritan. Cable bodyslides blind during a fight, tumbles through time and meets a pre-Weapon X Wade Wilson, back when Wade was sane, handsome and dying of cancer. Pitch perfect on both of them, and I love how the sections flow into each other.

On to last night's TV! I loved how Fi, Sam and Madeline started circling the wagons around Michael now that it's been driven home just how big the target on his back it. What I found most interesting, though, was the conversation between Fi and Sam about Michael's need to get back into the spy game. Of course she doesn't get it; the two of them are civil servants (albeit of the badass variety) and she's IRA. Of all people, Fi would be the one to divorce patriotism and actually working for the government. And especially in Michael's case, a government that hasn't done a whole lot for him lately. I'm really hoping we get some good Fi backstory this season; I'd love to know what made her join up with the IRA in the first place. Did she have family that was IRA? She rarely talks about Ireland and doesn't seem to miss it. Was it just a good excuse to blow stuff up, or did she consider herself a patriot?

The show's also made clear that Michael's not the only one with enemies --- Bly threatened Mike by letting Fi's name slip to her "old friends." I'd love to see that come up again.

We also watched Royal Pains, and...eh. I thought it had a bad case of pilotitis; Hank was unnecessarily whiny (oh no! You all want to pay me to live in paradise? You monsters!) but now that the question of whether or not he's staying has been settled I'm hoping that goes away. I liked the PA (this needs to cross over with Torchwood, just so she and Ianto can meet) but the hospital administrator was blah. Yes, yes, you're both fighting the man. Rah. She and Hank just fed on each other's self-righteousness.

Actually, I think my favorite character was Boris. Remember the Simpsons episode with Hank Scorpio? That's exactly who Boris reminds me of. The guy's day job is clearly as some kind of supervillain (who else pays in bars of gold?) but he's just so darn affable and charming.
