Libra killed him in the the first issue of Final Crisis. Libra got crazy god powers from Darkseid and was putting together a new Secret Society by giving villains their greatest wish, and that was what Human Flame wanted (and it let Libra put the fear of God into the other villains). Like Final Crisis as a whole, it was all kinds of terrible.
