Maximus: best paladin mount ever.

I finally saw Tangled! It was just as cute as everyone said it would be. I actually liked it a lot more than I did The Princess and the Frog (which I also liked! but I also thought it was a very careful movie, if that makes any sense? Like they made sure to hit all the Disney notes point by point. If the whole movie had been as cool and daring as the art deco scene and the "Friends on the Other Side" song it would have been a stronger movie. I digress.)
And as an "Into the Woods" fan I really dug how much of Bernadette Peter's witch I could see in Gothel, especially in the "Mother Knows Best" refrain. Of course, the witch actually DID see Rapunzel as her daughter and not just as an eternal youth potion, although they did a good job making it ambiguious whether Gothel did love Rupunzel as much as she could love anyone. But God, the cutting little comments. I almost had to fast forward through some of it. (My friend commented that Gothel and Frollo should meet and compare notes.)
That was a masterful set up, though. All would have been lost if not for one super-intelligent horse (who can sword fight!). And Pascal, my new favorite animal sidekick! And Flynn was of course suitably dashing, although he could have just let her heal him and then cut her hair off! It's a good thing he's pretty.
(I admit, I did make a "she has pokemon tears!" crack. Because she does.
Excellent movie. Would watch again.

I was looking up angel names today and came across this:
Elemiah – Angel of Inward Journeys
Traditionally believed to watch over and protect those who travel by water. Guides us to retrieve insights from our subconscious minds.
"Traveling my water" you say. (AND subconscious insights!) *files away for future use*

So I finished my outline for my
sncross_bigbang and, um...guys, should outlines be 1300 words? I think I'm doing this wrong. Now I'm trying to avoid the mistakes of my Outrun My Gun outline, where I'd write "Dean and Cas haunt Sam as he summons crossroad demons, goes hunting, etc." and that would mutate from one line in the outline to pages and pages and pages in reality, but I'm starting to get worried on just how long this is going to be.(!)
(For anyone not already bored to death, I "outline" by basically writing a one sentence or so summary of each scene. For example (not from anything): "Dean and Cas realize the room is trapped but can't get out of the way before ring of fire catches them both - they go back to back as the demons swarm in and then FIGHT." Sometimes a line or two of dialogue if I want to make sure I remember it.
This is a lot of scenes, is what I'm saying!)
*despairs of what the
spn_j2_bigbang outline will look like.*

RIGHT? I had the exact same problem with my stupid dc_everafter outline and I'm STILL pushing through it. It's consuming my life, it's all I think about and I'm only 10 of like 40 scenes finished with it. I think I've ended up spending more time on the damn outline then the story. >.< I don't know what I was thinking and furthermore, don't know how you can do several of these monsters a year. O_o
Hope yours gives you less trouble, bb. Happy writing!

Date: 2012-01-30 12:56 pm (UTC)Mostly, I think this is because once I write an outline, Artemis just assumes all the hard work is done and there's no reason for me to continue working on the same story she's already provided all the inspiration for.
*glares at her*
It sounds like your crossover is going to be quite the fic though! :D I am excited for it, because, well, the longer the better IMO. *grins angelically* ... *pets you*

Date: 2012-01-30 02:00 pm (UTC)(That's going double for the spn_j2_au fic because it's not nearly as plot heavy. I have all these scenes and I don't know where they go yet!

Well well well, that IS quite a good hint of an interesting plot I'm with you on that !
I'd be very eager to read this fic if you do write it ^^
