Sometimes I get mail from the future.

Today is weird, perhaps best exemplified by opening my mail to find that a client had claimed George Orwell as their authorized rep. Or that for the third time this week someone responded to a request for a copy of a photo ID by just sending in an actual photo.

How's everyone else? Did the weirdness fairy visit you, too? Read anything interesting? Writing anything you're excited about? (And if so, want to share? I love sneak peeks at WiPs because I am just super nosy.) Tell me what's going on with your awesome selves.

But otherwise, I've been immersing myself in lots and lots of words. Wrote a tiny bit more of my original fiction WIP (which is nervewracking), and read LOTS. All of yesterday was spent drowning myself in a truly spectacular M/M novel, and then today I read through one of the longer DCBBs I'd been putting off for the past several months. :D

...someday, I'll get back to writing lots of words. Really. I will. *nods*

Ugh. Did you call the college and figure out what their problem is?

I'm thisclose to finishing my sncross_bigbang - seriously, maybe 1-2K away - and I hate this scene and everything about it. Endings suck. And I'm officially panicking about being able to finish the spn_j2_bigbang story on time.

And yet I'm still signing up for deancasbigbang.:) (I know how the carpenter!Dean story ends now!)

It's been an ongoing mess. I went back a few years ago, intending to get a second degree, but dropped out really quickly when it became apparent that the commute would be too much. Since I was sick at the time, I called the school, because I knew there was a deadline to drop out without having to owe anything for the semester. They told me it was no problem, they would write a note, and said to just come get the paperwork filled out the next day. Next day, I did that, and was told they weren't allowed to make exceptions like that, and whoever I'd talked to hadn't known what they were talking about. I took it up higher, but was always told the same thing, and eventually I just gave up and refused to pay them. Which wasn't a problem, when I was living and paying taxes in CT, since it's a MA state college. Alas, I forgot about that when I moved back home.

Eh. I'll deal with it. Just one more thing in a long line of financial fuck-ups over the last decade. ;)

It is, and OMG thank you!! I'm actually having some trouble wrapping my head around writing it, because the beginning seems to read very much like an AU D/C fic to me. And even though the characters are very different in my mind, they tend to come across a lot of Dean and Cas as well, I think. Or maybe it's just me. I don't even know. *sigh* And in any case, I suck at wriitng stuff when I have no one to fall upon begging desperately for feedback, and most of my friends aren't so much interested in playing cheerleader to original stuff. ^^; But I'll get there eventually. :)

But anyway! Enough of my very complainy babble. It's awesome to hear you're so close to finishing your crossover BB! :D :D :D *ALL THE EXCITEMENT* Sorry to hear that the ending is giving you fits, though. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!

Also, YAY CARPENTER!DEAN!!! \o/ Oh man, I cannot wait for DCBB this year. I've really just been itching for ALL the Dean/Cas ficcage the past few weeks. It's driving me crazy, and there isn't enough of it lately! *falls to floor weeping* This needs to be fixed, clearly. *nods lots*

I'm ready for this fic to be done, you know? I am glad I figured out the end for the carpenter fic (I need to know how a fic ends in at least some vague way before I can write anything) even though it's just the sappiest thing ever.

But first finish the crossover, then high school shenanigans.

Yes! Doing DCBB was one of my New Year's Resolutions. Last year I found out about it literally one day after signups closed. (I have no such excuse for the other nonsense I've signed up for.:)

I was actually planning something else entirely but back in February I got knocked down by this comment_fic prompt: "Supernatural, Dean/Castiel, Dean is a carpenter and Castiel the musician who needs a custom piano bench - but hides the reason why the back of it must have two specially-shaped grooves from Dean."

LOL well a few of them actually. It's sort of borrowing a concept from Forks in the Road, there's kind a feel from Road from Sodom, and there's a nod to your "John loved Ellen and Bill was like, 'Duh she's awesome, who wouldn't love her?'" idea.
