I have to make it personal canon that Baroness is just playing the Joes to break Destro out. My OTP heart can't take anything else. But the Commander was good, and Destro and Zartan was better than he had any right to be. And Snake Eyes!
Of course then there was the shaky cam and the dumb suits and that ending and...
The movie had problems, is all I'm saying.
(One of my shameful fandom secrets is that I really enjoyed Legend of the Seeker, I suspect mostly because I have no knowledge of the book. It was a perfectly fun kid's fantasy flick. Of course I also really enjoy Warriors of Virtue, so my taste is probably suspect.)
MARRY ME PLEASE??? anyone who proclaims love for Warriors of Virtue is immediately my favorite.
I don't really have a frame of reference for GI Joe, except for some vague, vague childhood memories. Glad there was at least parts that were decent. (I personally was very disappointed.)
I'm a big fan of Larry Hama's Joe run with Marvel, so that's always my frameof reference. That the movie remembered Destro's supposed to be Scottish earned the rest of the mess a lot of leeway (even if the botched his mask. Sigh.)

Okay, just to make sure, we're both talking about the movie from the nineties where the kid falls into a fantasy world and befriends a group of five kung fu fighting kangaroos based on the elements, right? And the villain is made of magic and crazy and has a Loyal Lieutenant you loves him very much?
Aww. Yes, the remembering a character's origins is always nice.
Yes, that one with the kung fu kangaroos! There's something to mix it up with? (There's also a talking buffalo. And lots of eyeshadow! and a mystical old man. and prophecy? it's been a while). PROPOSAL STANDS.
No! This is the movie that killed him (the fall happened literally the day after filming ended)! And it's not even good funny bad. They're not even kangaroos!
Ha, I remembered your utter disdain for him when it was announced he had to pull out. (I've only seen him in Three Musketeers, which was twenty different kinds of a mess but he was the least of its sins.)
