misachanThe station we play at work has been all Christmas songs all the time since Thanksgiving, and I think I'm slowly losing my mind. The only saving grace had been that it looked like I'd managed to go the whole season without hearing that horrible "Christmas Shoes" song (you know the one. It's the one where the little boy wants to buy his dying, saintly mother shoes for Christmas so that she'll look pretty when she goes to meet Jesus. I sincerely love children, but that song makes want to go out and club every orphan I can find.), but then last week they played it. And they haven't played it again, which makes me think I summoned it into the air waves by thinking about my good fortune.
It all got me thinking: which holiday song makes you wish you could run Santa over with his own reindeer? Is it "Do They Know It's Christmas?", with its "Clanging chimes of DOOM!"? A particularly heinous cover? What's breaking your holiday spirit?
On a related note, I've done next to no Christmas shopping, I'm almost two weeks late with my ficathon story (I will post this story this week if it kills me), and I'm getting set to move in less than a month. I am freaked out, people. If anyone has some good Peter/Claude or Hiro/Adam recs (or a mix. Jack is always welcome to join to party.), please, send them my way. I needs them like chocolate.
