Because seriously, I'm not going to get anything else done while this show is on.

Every year there's one girl who looks straight out of Flashdance. And dear God, what was Caitlin wearing?!

Oh good. I like Adam. Ryan made him cry during the group dance.:)

Mary was on the radio today and that's her standard volume level, by the way.

Oh, dear. Step Up 3D? Really? Really?

Ah, and here comes the standard Fray montage.

Oh man. Spelling these names is going to be an adventure.

First Couple: Jeanine & Phillip, Hip Hop. Well, this should be good for Phillip.

Jeanine looks strikingly like Eliza Dushku in this clip.

Jeanine looks like she's trying very, very hard to remember the steps rather than getting into character. Phillip's moves are very smooth, though and he's carrying it.

Judges: Well, Adam liked it! ("Unfreaking believable!") I agree that Phillip's a good partner.

Mary's loudly agreeing with Adam.

And Nigel likes it too! Shows what I know; I thought she was too smiley.

***

Second Couple: Asuka & Vitolio, Broadway

Such a cute picture of Asuka! I love Vitolio's accent and wow, does he have pretty eyes.

Asuka dances like a crazy Broadway wind-up doll (in a good way!); she's getting great extension with her legs.

Judges: Adam likes it but thinks it came a little flat after the emotional previous dance.

Mary doesn't think Vitolio brought enough Jazz Hands! It felt too safe.

Nigel's pretty much the same: that they hit their marks but didn't bring enough energy.

Vitolio looks really upset. Aw.

***

Third Couple: Karla & Jonathon, Cha Cha

Poker Face is not Cha Cha music. Seriously.

Nice split! Jonathon looks so YOUNG in this dance. There was some nice hip work and lots of energy, but I don't know if this really counts as a Cha Cha. And I didn't see the flirty temptation thing they were talking about in the video.

Judges: Man, Adam likes everything tonight.

Oh, Mary. I really didn't need to know how you like things to be rough.:)

Nigel also really liked the split. All of the judges are very happy tonight.

Oh man, they're giving Evan a jazz routine? That's not even fair!

***

Fourth Couple:Randi & Evan, Jazz (Evan! Yay, Evan!)

The Brothers are so CUTE, people.

I really like how Evan is making sure to look at her the whole dance. And that was a beautiful lift. I loved the connection they had.

Judges: Adam's pointing out their extreme tininess, but only to make a point at how big they danced. Adam is just fanboying all over Evan.:)

Seriously Mary? Evan was at the bottom of the pack? Really?

Nigel's pointing out how Randi had control of the dance, which is true. She was leading him and it brought a really sexy energy to things.

***

Fifth Couple: Paris & Tony, Hip Hop (Again?)

I liked the other Hip Hop better, to tell the truth. I didn't think they had enough energy for this song. Tony was flowing when he should have been snapping.

Judges: Adam agrees about the energy and also isn't a fan of the costumes.:)

Mary doesn't like it! Or at least doesn't think it's memorable.

Nigel said it wasn't "real," and he has a point. They both looked like it was a recital, not a dance battle thing.

***

Sixth Couple: Caitlin & Jason, Bollywood (oh, this should be good)

Oh, Jason's the one with the super long legs.

And of course, it's Jai Ho.:) That handstand was ridiculous. She's one step behind him on a lot of steps, enough that it's noticable. Second best of the night so far, other than that; Jason really did a good job, especially with the hard, stomping steps.

Judges: Adam loves it!

And Mary loves it loudly.:) Very loudly.

And so does Nigel!

***

Seventh Couple: Janette & Brandon, Fox Trot. Oh dear. Well, hopefully the salsa background will help.

I really like her floaty skirt. I confess, I have no idea how to judge ballroom. I can tell when it's done badly, but that's about it. It wasn't done badly? That's all I got. It was pretty!

Judges: Adam mentions how sad it must make America to see Brandon dance in clothes.:)

Oh, Mary.:) Cat asked her to give them an eyebrow and Mary said that she couldn't because of the botox.:) Mary agrees it was lovely, and she's the expert here.

Nigel liked it (and praised Janette's carriage) but said Brandon needed to work on his strength.

***

Eighth Couple: Ashley & Kupono, Jazz

Oh dear. It's one of those crazy jazz numbers. "I'm a robot just coming back to life!" Although they're both crash test dummies. In love.

Well, we were due for a WTF dance tonight. I'm going to be honest, this is triggering my Clown Fear just a tad.

I don't know. It was really cute, but in a weird, European commercial way.

Judges: Adam says that their technique was extraordinary but that choreographer Wade is a "sick puppy.":)

Mary put the prop dog on the hot tamale train. It was a cute prop dog.

Nigel thinks the dance was "genius" and admired how they kept to their characters.

***

Ninth Couple: Melissa & Ade, Contemporary

I have such a soft spot for the ballet dancers. Aw, Right Here Waiting! I love this song. Mock me as you will

That was very cute and flirty and sweet. Although they did that "running through the meadow" spot that every contemporary routine seems to have. She has such beautiful lines. Respect the ballerinas!

Judges: Adam's crying! He's such as soft touch.:) He said it was special and it was. As much as I fangirl Evan, this is probably my dance of the night.

Mary: *scream!*

Nigel praises Ade's power and says again how happy he is to have a ballerina in the Twenty.

***

Tenth Couple: Kayla & Max, Samba

The samba choreographer has apparently known Max since Max was fourteen.

I like what Kayla's doing with her hands. Very, very sexy dance, blew the Cha Cha earlier right out of the water.

Judges: Adam: "THAT WAS SO GOOD!"! He said that Kayla made him believe in God, because only God could have created Kayla.:) He can't believe she's never done ballroom.

Here comes the Hot Tamale Train! (Nigel's wearing headphones:)

Nigel: "Truly sensational routine." Nigel loves Kayla, thinks she could dance any style. His only criticism is that Max could have been "sharper."

This was crazy good for the first week. The only real weak link was Paris & Tony's hip hop, and even that was more "meh" than outright bad. I have no idea how the votes are going to shake out.
