I do! But before I get to the flailing and the ranting (V fans, you may want to skip that section) I think the internet at large needs to be aware of this: apparently in Switzerland you can hire an evil clown to stalk your children. I am not even kidding. Oh, and here's a quote from Clowns International (ohdeargodnowclownconventionsImayneversleepagain): "I think what Dominic[the guy dressing up as the evil clown] is doing is a great idea," he added. "Bringing a little bit of life and laughter into kids’ lives is what we are all about."

Yes. Life and Laughter. And therapy. So much therapy. (Any fellow clown fear sufferers, said evil clown is pictured in full regalia. Learn from my trauma!)

On to said shows, Human Target first:

spoilers for 1x12, Christopher Chance )

If my show doesn't get renewed I will be so, so upset.

Now for Lost!

Spoilers for 6x11, Everyone Loves Hurley )

I guess I can't put off talking about V any more. In a way it's almost a bad thing that Lost is so good week in and week out because V just suffers more by comparison. Also, its CGI continues to be terrible.

spoilers for 1x07, John May )

I disapprove of how often Pokemon Pearl forces me to interact with clowns. Clowns, just wandering around in the wild, giving things to small children. And no one seems to notice. Every time I have to talk to one of these things I half expect the text box to read, "You're a Pokemon trainer! How wonderful! Here, have this item for no apparent reason. By the way, we all float down here! WE ALL FLOAT!!!!!"

Ahem.

I really wish my brain would stop feeding my Heroes plot bunnies; I have approximately twenty thousand WIPs currently milling around my fanfic folder, all begging for attention like puppy dogs competing for belly rubs. I don't write very quickly as it is, and going, "Hey, you know what would be cool?" every other day is getting super tiring. Especially since I'm still only halfway through my [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon assignment, which, by the way, is not Heroes. Hear that, brain?

Part of the problem is that Heroes is open canon, and it's been ages since I've had to deal with that crazy energy. There's always that rush to get the fic done before the episodes start up again and either the fandom moves onto new obsessions or the story gets jossed. And my main writing interest is only in five episodes to date, so there's that little nagging voice telling me to get a move on, or people are going to lose interest---which is kind of irrational, since I have people on my flist who write fic about Doctor Who companions from twenty years ago.

The open canon thing is why, coming strictly from a fannish POV, I like Five Years Gone so much. It's this nice little closed canon pocket, and since we'll almost certainly never visit that timeline again, you can do anything. It's great fun, and why four of those WIPs are 5YG fics (that, and because I never get tired of speculating about what happened to Claude in that timeline. There are no wrong answers! Bwahahahahaha!)

Shifting gears, the universe loves me. How do I know? Because SciFi is starting the new season of Doctor Who the day after my birthday. It's like I'm getting a Tardis-shaped present. I'm on dial-up, so downloading eps really isn't an option, so I thought I'd have to dodge spoilers for months still to come. Only a few short weeks until the Doctor is covered with kittens!

If I never update again after that episode, by the way, please know that my death from cute was the way I always wanted to go.
