Not in any way a spoiler, because all of Yevgeny's outfits look like that.

Gold for Evan! Yay! He skated a very pretty (and very clean) program with a lot of emotion, especially towards the end. He's not always the most charismatic presence out there (although he's a like a magical fairy prince compared to Ghosts of Skating Past like Todd Eldridge and Michael Weiss.) It's always a fantastic thing when a skater pulls off a lifetime performance at the Olympics. (Congrats to Takahashi too, who's come so far with his artistry over the years! I feel like I've been waiting for him to skate that program forever.)

I am a little sad for Plushenko, especially after seeing how gutted he looked on the podium. I know he's polarizing, but I like the arrogant little edge he brings to things; it forces everyone to up their game and it's what give him so much of his flair. Skating will be a much less sparkly place once he finally retires.

Speaking of sparkling, polarizing magical fairy princes, I was astonished at Johnny's Weir's score. I was positive that performance has put him into contention for the bronze. Aside from that freak stumble on the spin he put together a perfect performance. I don't know what the Olympic committee wants from the kid. Partially I like him because he's the only skater who does the one-arm-over-the-head axel now that Boitano's retired.:) I hope he skates to something fierce in the exhibition.

BTW, am I the only one who thinks the medals look warped? What is with that? It was all I could look at during the ceremony.
