I'd forgotten how lulzy the ice dancing music choices can be. So far tonight we've had Bohemian Rhapsody, Crawling by Linkin Park, and now the theme from Requiem for a Dream that's in every other movie trailer.

I don't care all that much for the first two stages of ice dancing but I always really enjoy the free skate. You would think not having to do the throws and jumps in the pairs skate would make the programs easier, but every couple has just incredibly intricate footwork and there have been some phenomenal lifts --- the German team (the Linkin Park couple) had the girl actually picking up the guy for one of the lifts!

Ooh! "The Impossible Dream!" In French!

Look, NBC, I just want to watch some figure skating. Can you please just tell me when the coverage is going to start instead of the constant tease of, "And tonight we'll have the Pair's Free Skate in just a few minutes...but first here's [insert event here]. And it's not like I don't enjoy [insert event here]! I just want to know when you'll finally get to the skating!

And if you have to do that, once you do start the coverage can you please just show it, and not show one couple and then immediately cut to [insert event here]?

Fah.
